The Great Quest |
| |
| Overview: |
Part The Amazing Race, part Survivor, and part National Treasure, all high-impact, super-fun, full-throttle team building! The Great Quest is an amazing challenge, loaded with physical and mental challenges that are sure to be fun, engaging, and timely in today’s business environment.
|
|
| Description: |
The first stage of this event consists of team building challenges that must be completed to earn points and clues. Teams are awarded points and clues by completing tasks in the least amount of time, fewest errors, or by obtaining the most money from their team challenge. It is typical for teams to fiercely compete against each other in this opening round. However the teams that keep information from other teams, go off and do their own thing and engage in individualistic behavior, rather than cooperative and collaborative behaviors, usually score lower. This helps set the stage for the next phase of The Great Quest. |
| |
The second stage is about mental agility, solving clues, and handling stress. This session is extremely fast-paced, challenging and fun! Teams must decode each clue, navigate to its destination and solve the puzzle found at the site. Correct answers gain victory points for the team while incorrect answers just waste everyone's time (just like at work). This part of The Great Quest can include tailored clues, specific to your company. Teams that work together increase everyone's score and place the organization in a much better position to win the entire event. |

| Teams, Clues and Codes |
The Great Quest works for groups from 6 - 1,000. The group is divided into small teams, roles are defined, objectives are clarified and commitments are made. Each team creates a name and a slogan for themselves and then the teams are given their first set of clues. Each team also gets a "clue kit". These kits contain the essential ingredients needed by the team to break codes, figure out the clues and attain solutions. Clue kits contain clues, magnifying glass, compass, map and additional code-breaking equipment. |
| |
The Results |
The clues challenge your team to employ a wide variety of problem solving skills: |
- Code-breaking
- Foreign languages
- Riddles
- Mathematics
- Innovation
- Good old-fashioned detective work
|
In addition to problem solving skills, the more you utilize team skills (communication, role definition, encouragement, cooperation and support) the higher your score will be. Because of the way The Great Quest is structured, the normal "win at all costs" attitude is challenged. Teamwork wins the day in this event. |
| |
Participants have lots of fun with The Great Quest and learn valuable experiential team building lessons. The Great Quest concludes with each team member setting a specific goal to keep this newly found synergy alive. |
